Qwrki

WordPress plugin guide

Updated 26 October 2026

What it does

Qwrki Connect lets Qwrki use the WordPress and supported WooCommerce APIs of a site you approve. The plugin also provides the module tools available for that site's installed plugins and capabilities.

Before you start

Your site must use HTTPS. You need a WordPress administrator account with permission to manage options, and access to your organisation's WordPress page in Qwrki.

Install the plugin

  1. Download the Qwrki Connect plugin ZIP from your Qwrki WordPress page.
  2. In wp-admin, open Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the downloaded ZIP and install it.
  3. Activate Qwrki Connect.
  4. Then follow the connection approval steps below.

Approve and connect

In Qwrki, open Integrations, choose WordPress and enter your site's HTTPS address. Complete the Approve & Connect screen as a WordPress administrator.

Qwrki finishes the handshake on its server and stores the approved token encrypted. The plugin keeps a token hash and checks requests against an administrator who still exists on the site.

Supported changes require Writes ON and the Qwrki permissions or approvals for the action. A new WordPress connection starts with Writes OFF.

What the plugin sends

After approval, Qwrki can call the site's WordPress and supported WooCommerce APIs. A published, updated or trashed post or page produces a notice with its id and the site address, rather than its title or body.

An approved comment produces a notice with its id, its post id and the site address, rather than the comment text or the author's name or email. Event notices are signed so Qwrki can verify their source.

When WooCommerce is active, the plugin can register webhooks for order updates, customer updates and customer deletion. Disconnecting or uninstalling removes those webhooks.

Modules and tools

The module names are listed below. A module is available only when its required plugin files and capabilities are present; connecting a site does not make every module active.

  • media
  • taxonomy
  • menus
  • users
  • options
  • db

Website Chat

Website Chat is configured separately in the plugin's settings. Use the tenant and widget ids shown under Chat, Install in Qwrki, and enable the widget for the pages where you want it to appear.

Website Chat stays off until valid tenant and widget ids are configured and the widget is enabled.

Disconnect

In wp-admin, open Settings > Qwrki Connect and choose Disconnect from Qwrki. The plugin invalidates its tokens, removes the registered WooCommerce webhooks and removes its event address and derived secret.

Removing the WordPress integration from Qwrki uses the same revoke path.

Uninstall

Disconnect first, then deactivate and delete the Qwrki Connect plugin in wp-admin. Uninstalling removes the settings stored by the plugin.
